2019 Victorian Junior Landcare and Biodiversity Grants Closing 21 June 2019!

2019 Victorian Junior Landcare and Biodiversity Grants of up to $5,000 each are available.

Funded projects will focus on -

• Improving biodiversity through the development, improvement or restoration of habitat for Victoria’s native plants (flora) and animals (fauna), and/or

• Educating, involving and engaging young people in valuing and actively caring for Victoria’s natural environment.

2019 Victorian Junior Landcare and Biodiversity Grants Closing 21 June 2019!
Landcare Australia in partnership with DELWP are offering grants of up to $5,000 each in the 2019 round in support of Victorian schools, childcare centres, Scouts, Girl Guides and youth groups. The 2019 grants provide an opportunity to secure funding to engage young Victorians in outdoor, hands-on, on-ground projects and environmental learning activities that provide both environmental and educational outcomes, as well as health and social benefits. Landcare Australia is inviting nominations for the 2019 State and Territory Landcare Awards which recognises individuals and groups across the country for their outstanding contributions to preserving the unique Australian landscape. Landcarers recognised in Queen's Birthday Honours
Landcare Victoria Inc. is delighted to congratulate members Mrs Eileen Collins (Chiltern Landcare Group) and Mrs Audrey Drechsler (Axe Creek Catchment Landcare Group) who were recognised in the recent 2019 Queen’s Birthday Honours. Full details are available at honours.pmc.gov.au.

Landcare Victoria Inc. farewells Dr Kaye Rodden
Landcare Victoria Inc. (LVI) farewells Dr Kaye Rodden who has served as LVI's Vice Chair - Advocacy & Partnerships for the last two years. Kaye brought enormous energy and intellect to the portfolio since the merger of the two organisations and previously to the Victorian Landcare Council. She has made an outstanding contribution and the state and national level and we wish Kaye the very best in her continuing work at the local level. LVI again thanks outgoing CoM member Alan Morton; his work in the communications space has been greatly appreciated and we welcome his continuing involvement via the LVI Members Council. LVI Annual General Meeting - 2019
Over 90 delegates, members and guests attended to the 2019 LVI AGM to hear Lucinda Corrigan, Chair of Farmers for Climate Action talk about Climate Change as an economic issue and Climate Smart Agriculture. Attendees also heard from Kylie White, Deputy Secretary of Energy, Environment and Planning at DELWP regarding Biodiversity 2037 and the Environmental Volunteer Plan.
